What is Bright Shift?

Bright Shift is an online platform which was created passionately to make therapy more accessible and affordable for a larger group of people. Through the Bright Shift website clients can connect to therapists, counsellors and psychologists. Communication with the service providers is possible through video calling, audio calling or live chat.Many of the service providers on this platform can speak the native language of the clients and can understand their cultural and social environment. Our aim is to provide a safe space for clients in order to seek the help that they need and to experience a positive change in their lives.

Are Bright Shift’s therapists licensed?

All our therapists are licensed. When you visit a therapist’s profile on our website, you can see their educational backgrounds, field of expertise, years of experience, their nationalities, place of residence and the languages that they can speak.

How can I find a therapist to talk to?

You will have the option to search the type of therapy that you require as well as the preferred language. Our system will provide you with the list of the professionals who offer your selected services. Then you will have the option to select your preferred therapist, by clicking on the name of the therapist. A time table will appear that allows you to choose the date and timing of your choice for the therapy session.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes, it definitely is. By connecting to a therapist online, you are communicating with a professional who has spent many years of her/his life learning about the complexities and functions of the human mind and emotions. These professionals are trained to help you live a better life. Moreover, there has been a lot of research done on this subject which has proved the efficacy of online therapy. You can always research and study the results of the various researche that has been done in this field and make a decision for yourself to use online therapy or not.
However, you must always be aware that online therapy is not a replacement for the traditional face- to- face methods of therapy. Based on the severity and type of issues that you are facing, you might need to see a therapist face- to -face, instead of using online counseling/therapy services. Also, please keep in mind that your provider cannot prescribe any medication for you.
If you are having thoughts or planning to harm yourself or other people, please do not use this website and immediately contact the emergency services in your own city of residence/country instead.

Is any of the communication between the service provider and the clients recorded or stored on Bright Shift Website?

No. Currently we do not record or store any of the communications between the service providers and the clients.

How much does it cost to use Bright Shift services?

A therapy session at Bright Shift currently costs 73 U.S Dollars.

Can I use Bright Shift services anonymously?

Yes, you can. You have a choice to use your real full name or to keep your identity confidential and use a nickname instead of your full name. You are not required to use your full name.Upon opening an account on Bright Shift, you will have an option to provide an emergency contact number. However, If you are not willing to provide this number, you are still able to use the services. ( Although we strongly recommend you to provide us with an emergency contact number on your profile.)

How is the clients' privacy protected at Bright Shift?

Your privacy and confidentiality are taken very seriously at Bright Shift.
• All your live text chats with the service provider are secured with an end to end encryption.
• We do not record or store any of the sessions.
• We do not share any of the user’s personal information with any third party.
• We do not store any of your live text chat communications with your service provider.
• You can use our services anonymously. You have a choice to use your real full name or to keep your identity confidential and use a nickname instead of your full name. You are not required to use your full name.
• Upon opening an account on Bright Shift you will have an option to provide an emergency contact number, but If you are not willing to provide this number you are still able to use the services.( Although we strongly recommend you to provide us the emergency contact number on your profile.)

How can I delete my account?

You can send us an email to: Care@Brightshift.co with a requirement to delete your account and we will cancel or delete your profile/account for you.

Do I need to download any software or an app to use Bright Shift services?

Currently, you do not need to download any software or app to use Bright Shift services. And all our services are accessible through any devices including Computers, Apple and IOS devices. Basically, as soon as you open an account on the website, you will be able to use its features.

What is the minimum internet speed requirement to use Bright Shift services smoothly?

The minimum internet speed requirements for the usage of our facilities are as follows:
• Audio Calling: Minimum download/upload speed: 30kbps/30kbps; Recommended download / upload speed:100kbps/100kbps
• Video Calling: Minimum download/upload speed: 128kbps/128kbps; Recommended download/upload speed:300kbps/300kbps.

How can I join Bright Shift as a service provider?

• You should already be a licensed professional in your country of residence.
• You should be holding a minimum of 2 years of work experience in your field of expertise. And You should hold a minimum of  Master’s degree in your field of practice.
