What is Bright Shift?

Bright Shift is an online platform where you can find online therapy, wellness practices and workshops. Being the first online therapy platform in the United Arab Emirates and the GCC region, we take pride in having been able to make high-quality therapy services more accessible to the people of the region.
We offer all our services to individuals, couples and workplaces.

Are Bright Shift’s therapists licensed?

All our therapists are licensed. When you visit a therapist’s profile on our website, you can see their educational backgrounds, field of expertise, years of experience, and the languages that they can speak.
They are all educated and trained in the UK and Canada.

Is online therapy effective?

Yes, it definitely is. By connecting to a therapist online, you are communicating with a professional who has spent many years of her/his life learning about the complexities and functions of the human mind and emotions. These professionals are trained to help you live a better life. Moreover, there has been a lot of research done on this subject which has proved the efficacy of online therapy. You can always research and study the results of the various researche that has been done in this field and make a decision for yourself to use online therapy or not.
However, you must always be aware that online therapy is not a replacement for the traditional face- to- face methods of therapy. Based on the severity and type of issues that you are facing, you might need to see a therapist face- to -face, instead of using online counseling/therapy services. Also, please keep in mind that your provider cannot prescribe any medication for you.
If you are having thoughts or planning to harm yourself or other people, please do not use this website and immediately contact the emergency services in your own city of residence/country instead.

Is any of the communication between the service provider and the clients recorded or stored on Bright Shift Website?

No. We never record or store any of the communications between the service providers and the clients.

What is the average duration of communication with the service provider?

It depends on the therapist. But, generally speaking the average time of communication is 50 minutes to1 hour. Couples therapy sessions are longer and they can last between 60 to 90 minutes long.

How much does it cost to use Bright Shift services?

Each therapist at Bright Shift has their own fee. The first session is always more affordable. You can see the fee of each therapist listed on their profile on our appointment page here: BrightShift – Online Therapy

Can I use Bright Shift services anonymously?

Yes, you can. You have a choice to use your real full name or to keep your identity confidential and use a nickname instead of your full name. You are not required to use your full name.Upon opening an account on Bright Shift, you will have an option to provide an emergency contact number. However, If you are not willing to provide this number, you are still able to use the services. ( Although we strongly recommend you to provide us with an emergency contact number on your profile.)

How is the clients' privacy protected at Bright Shift?

Your privacy and confidentiality are taken very seriously at Bright Shift.
• All your live text chats with the service provider are secured with an end to end encryption.
• We do not record or store any of the sessions.
• We do not share any of the user’s personal information with any third party.
• We do not store any of your live text chat communications with your service provider.
• You can use our services anonymously. You have a choice to use your real full name or to keep your identity confidential and use a nickname instead of your full name. You are not required to use your full name.
• Upon opening an account on Bright Shift you will have an option to provide an emergency contact number, but If you are not willing to provide this number you are still able to use the services.( Although we strongly recommend you to provide us the emergency contact number on your profile.)

How can I delete my account?

You can send us an email to: [email protected] with a requirement to delete your account and we will cancel or delete your profile/account for you.

Do I need to download any software or an app to use Bright Shift services?

Our sessions are offered online via the Zoom app. Therefore it is recommended to download the Zoom app and open a Zoom account. Upon your request we can provide you online therapy sessions via other platforms too, platforms such as; Skype, WhatsApp and etc.

How can I join Bright Shift as a service provider?

You can always send us your CV to the following email address: [email protected] and we will get back to you soon. However, before applying please take a look at the basic requirements as follows:
• You should already be a licensed professional in your country of residence.
• You should be holding a minimum of 2 years of work experience in your field of expertise. And You should hold a minimum of Master’s degree in your field of practice.

HOW IT WORKS For Online Therapy

1- Sign up It’s easy, quick and confidential. Visit our website. Sign up with an email address. Rest assured, all the data you share with us will be considered confidential, and will not be disclosed to or shared with any third-parties. 2- Select your therapist You have the option to select your therapist. We have an amazing team of qualified and experienced psychologists. You get to choose your therapist. 3- Book a session  Check the schedule of your therapist and choose the date and time that suits you the best. If the schedule of the psychotherapist / psychologist of your choice is full or their schedule doesn’t suit yours, please let us know via email and we will arrange the suitable timing with the psychotherapist/ psychologist of your choice. Send us an email: [email protected] 4- Payment Use our secure system of payment for your upcoming session. Use our secure payment gateway options to make the payment for your upcoming session. Upon successful payment, you will receive an appointment confirmation email and the Zoom link of the session at the email address provided by you. If you prefer any other online App to communicate with your therapist other than the Zoom App, please let us know and we will inform your therapist to use your preferred platform. 5- On appointment day The Zoom link of your session has been sent to your email address. Simply click on the Zoom link in your email and connect to your psychologist online via Zoom. Your communication can be via the video calling, audio calling or live text chat based on your own choice. If you prefer any other online App to communicate with your therapist other than the Zoom App, please let us know and we will inform your therapist to use your preferred platform.
